ALASKA JrNBA and JrWNBA goes to Baguio

image

Last weekend, 665 boys and girls, aged 10-14 years old trooped to the Benguet State University gymnasium to participate in the JrNBA and JrWNBA Regional Training Camp presented by Alaska. Some even travelled from far down South as Biñan, Laguna to realize a dream…that is to be the next basketball superstar.

All lined up and ready to be measured...

Day one started out as usual…aspirants lining up to register and wait for their turn to have their vitals measured and checked.

After getting their numbers…let’s now move on to the skills department. Players went through several stations to see if they got game.

Now let's see if they can shoot...

After showing their skills at every station, each player is rated and their points totalled…then tabulated to determine who advances to the next round.

Then came day two…the day where the coaches will see who’s got game. Those who made the first cut were divided into teams, wherein they will be involved in a scrimmage to simulate an actual game. It aims to show who would stand out, not necessarily the one who scores the most points…but the player who will be able to execute an all around game.

After playing the whole day, aspirants are tired...some even cramped. Each one hoping that they've shown enough to make the cut.

After carefully tabulating the scores, the results are out.
