‎”Adidas KOTR Race Results and Discussions”

First of all, i would like to apologize for bringing you here even if I still don’t have the link for the official results of the event. I just want you all to know that this practice has been done time and again by some enterprising group simply to gain “hits” which is very important if you if the sole intention of having one is to make money. I’m sure a lot of runners have been fooled into clicking such links after a race only to be told that the official results will be provided once it is made available by the organizers, and for the meantime, you’ll be asked for your comments and opinions or join the discussions about the race without even moderating them. In effect, it sometimes create chaos that leads to some runners dishing out foul statements that tend to offend, insult the organizers or even provoke others to do the same.

Another thing is copying and posting events from other blogsites and even sharing pictures/posters of events with watermarks (that strongly suggest that they are copied) without even giving full credit to the source. In this day and age, it is too easy to access information on the internet but i’m pretty sure some of these or even a lot are not credible nor first hand. These are only some of the things that are being widely practiced just to gather “hits” or visits without giving consideration to the age old values of respect and etiquette.

I hope that by simply giving you a short insight in what has been going on right now in the community, you will all be able to decipher who these people are. I’m not sourgraping, and i’m not making a campaign for you not to patronize or support them. It just saddens me that a lot of unsuspecting people especially in the running community are being taken advantaged of without them knowing it. It’s all up to you, but if you really want to be given credible/first hand info and official results, going to the official web/blogsite is not that hard to do.

Let me just share to you a phrase from Mr. Ton Concepcion of Condura Skyway Marathon, “we are all united by our passion for running. and it is in this community and this family in particular that we would like to promote the age old values of respect, good sportsmanship and living our life to be the best that we can be.”

I promise that this will be the first and last time that i’ll be doing this, Thank you!
