Power Up and Run with Chevrolet – New Balance

Do you have the power to run? Then this event is for you…On November 6, 2011, Chevrolet, together with New Balance brings you the Power Run 2011 to be held at the Bonifacio Global City grounds in Taguig.

I could still remember the first time I joined this annual event though it was still called the Power Race back then (hmmm…I wonder why they changed it to Power Run…). It was back in 1998 and the event was held inside Clark Air Base in Pampanga. It was a much anticipated and well attended race, which I think contributed to the running boom that we are experiencing now. And this year, New Balance and Chevrolet hooked up with no less than the premiere events and race organizer in the country namely Events King and Runrio Inc.

With the recent success of the Cobra IM 70.3 in CamSur and Runrio Trilogy Leg 2: Run United 2, we’re sure to see and experience another great event.

The following is the official press release from the organizers…

CHEVROLET – NEW BALANCE POWER RUN 2011

The legacy races through as New Balance brings back the Chevrolet – New Balance Power Run 2011. Mark your calendars and pace yourselves for November 6, 2011 at the Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Planet Sports Inc., the distributor of New Balance in the Philippines started its annual marathon as early as 2002 when Coach Rio was still young and eager to register for the Power Race. Through its eight previous runs, the Power Race has transitioned through many locations such as Clark, Pampanga and evolved till its last big run, the New Balance Power Run: Raising Hope held in November 2009. For 2010, NB tried to focus on supporting numerous running events but realized that there is nothing like the Power Run, a marathon that has gained reputation for ensuring the runners ultimate satisfaction and safety. New Balance has also been known to bring the unique 25Km race category in its Power Race/Run which gives half-marathon runner’s that extra push as they end their year in training.
The Chevrolet – New Balance Power Run 2011 to be held on November 6 in Bonifacio Global City is open for the 5KM (Php 850), 10KM (Php 950) and 25KM (Php 1,150) race category. Online registration begins on August 24, while in-store registration will commence on September 1 – October 16, 2011. All registered runners will receive a New Balance technical shirt, race bib, timing chip and a Php 1,000 cash voucher along with a special souvenir medallion for the 25KM registrants inside an exclusive Power Run bag. What’s even more exciting is not only will there be numerous raffle prizes up for grabs but one lucky finisher will get to drive home a brand new Chevrolet Cruze! It wasn’t called the Chevrolet – New Balance Power Run 2011 for nothing.
The Power Run 2011 is presented to you by New Balance together with Chevrolet; organized by Runrio Inc; brought to you by its official hydration partner 100 Plus and Summit Mineral Water; official venue partner – Bonifacio Global City and Taguig; and Sponsored by Planet Sports, The Athlete’s Foot, Pioneer Insurance, California Pizza Kitchen, Devant, Multisport and The Philippine Star.
