January 13, 2012 was a Friday…End of the work week for some, start of the weekend for many. But for several “ordinary” runners who blogs, it turns out that it’s not just an ordinary Friday.

I, together with several friends were invited to attend the press/media launch of the TIMEX Run 2012: Time is Running at Cafe La Carmela along Jupiter St. in Makati. It was a time to “meet and greet” the star(s) of the show , celebrity runner Piolo Pascual and Coach Rio Dela Cruz.

Here, we were given an exclusive 1-hour session with the two celebrities to know more about them, their training and some details of the race event itself. Our group even went ahead of the people from the main stream media so how cool was that?

Piolo gamely answered questions regarding his training, nutrition and experiences during races while coach Rio was asked more about his recent engagement rather than his training hehehe…
TIMEX, being the main sponsor of this event made sure that everyone will have a good time. We were gamely asked to play “Pinoy Henyo” and even prepared gifts to the lucky winners.

So who says Friday the 13th connotes badluck? Well, for some maybe, but not for us. The whole group was given an experience out of the ordinary that many runners would wish for, and add to that, some of us even received simple gifts as a token to somehow acknowledge our presence and continuous support.

With the way things went during the first TIMEX Run with Piolo last 2009, I’m quite sure that this will be another blockbuster and an unforgettable event for the ever booming running community.
Registration is EXTENDED until January 18 in all four registration sites – Riovana BGC, Riovana Katipunan, Timex Store in Trinoma and Watch Republic In Robinsons Galleria.
